"STUDIO" SESSION:

£240

For this type of session we aim to record each part separately to a set tempo, ideally using previously recorded “tracking files” as a starting point.

This recording method usually gives us the clearest recordings and allows the most control over the mix, but can be more challenging if you’re not used to playing without the rest of the band.

It will also take longer to record in this way, especially when it comes to the editing and mixing stage.

- The full 8 hour session is £240
- Overtime hours charged at £30/h
- Editing, Mixing, Mastering (project we recorded): £25/h
- We can offer special rates for multiple days
- We can agree on a cap on total spend

"LIVE" SESSION:

£160

For this type of session we record the whole band playing together, with microphones on every instrument / vocal, full drum mics setup, and DI channels where available.

This recording method can encourage a more ‘together’ performance and take much less time, but greatly sacrifices flexibility and can often affect the overall clarity of the recordings. ‘Spill’ on the mics from other instruments can limit the level of editing and mixing that can be used in the production stage. Best for bands with a more limited budget, or for when having a ‘live’ feel is more important than getting a clean ‘studio’ sound.

- The full 6 hour session is £160
- Overtime hours charged at £30/h
- Editing, Mixing, Mastering (project we recorded): £25/h

- We can offer special rates for multiple days
- We can agree on a cap on total spend

"SOLO" SESSION:

£130

This session is for one musician to come in and record, either to their own pre-recorded music, or with a clean slate. Vocals, guitar, keys, drums, it can be anything you like as long as there's only one of you!

Recorded elsewhere but want to try a different tone or performance on one of the parts? Let us know what you want to achieve and we'll help you make it happen.

Also a great session for singer-songwriters, or any solo artist, to produce demos, portfolio material, tracking, or even album material.

- The full 6 hour session is £130
- Additional hours of recording are charged at £30/h
- Editing, Mixing, Mastering (project we recorded): £25/h

- We can offer special rates for multiple days
- We can agree on a cap on total spend

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SESSION

Practice

- a LOT

- until you don’t think about your part at all

- until you are almost sick of hearing the songs

- vocal technique (dynamics control, mic technique, loudness)

- playing each part to a click

Listen

- to a phone recording of yourselves (identify any issues with performance / sound)

- to other music and compare with your material (what makes it great?)

Know

- the songs (structure, chords, solos, beginnings/endings)

- your sound (amp/fx settings, drum tones/tuning, overall feel)

- what to expect from the session (see below)

Provide

- reference material (keep it realistic and relevant)

- as much information as possible about the songs

- tempos for all songs

- tracking files (each part recorded to the click, even phone recordings are fine)
